Some of the important items are a supply of food, water, blanket for heat or fan to cool down, tire plug kit, basic tools and how to use them, booster cables or battery booster and cell phone. Most cell phones and GPS will have your GPS coordinates to give to rescuers should you get lost and not know your location.
